Tend to the
life you desire
What is calling to be expressed?
What might happen if you listen?

What keeps getting in the way of the life you desire?
You want to live a life that's true to who you are. A life that feels coherent with what matters most to you.
Yet creating the life you want is harder than it sounds. You may have already tried: taken a bold step, met familiar resistance, and ended up back where you started, now with self-recrimination layered on top.
This is our self-protective nature at work. We develop patterns that keep us safe from past pain, and they don't simply step aside when we decide we want something new. So one part of us desires the change, and another part actively resists it, and we get locked in an inner tug-of-war. Both sides pulling in different directions, neither stopping to listen or understand the wider context.
What we resist persists. And what we welcome shifts.
Change unfolds when we stop trying to force it and begin getting into relationship with what's in the way — listening to it rather than fighting through it. The parts of you that resist your own becoming are faithfully trying to keep you from things you learned to avoid in the past.
What might happen if you turned towards the resistance you notice and finally asked what it's been so afraid of all this time?

Meet Your Coach
About Stephen
Hi, I'm Stephen Tracy, a coach based in New York City, working primarily with gay men, founders, and creatives who want to express themselves more fully.
I help my clients move toward their desires while learning to embrace all of who they are, so their lives flow with greater integrity and ease.
What's most often getting in the way is one of two things. Either we're unclear what we actually want, or we know what we want and another part of us is afraid or resistant. Either way, our inner world pulls us in different directions, and we get stuck in the middle, working harder to resolve the tension.
What if resolution began with listening?
The work we do together makes room for all of your inner world — the hopes and the fears, the push and the pulls — and meets each part in a way that honors the role it has been playing. From that listening, deeper self-understanding and a reconciliation that holds all of you begin to emerge.

Who I tend to work with
My work tends to draw people who care deeply about self-expression and being true to themselves.
Maybe you feel something pulling within you: a desire that hasn't quite found its way into being, or a gap between how your life looks from the outside and how it feels within. The strategies that worked for you before don't seem to be working this time. You sense something different is needed.
For gay men
If you're a gay man, you may have come out, built a life that's recognizably yours, and now sense there's still more to explore. What you're looking for is support in uncovering the next layer, in answering for yourself how you want to be in your life and your relationships. I don't tell you what to do. I help you listen to what's true for you, and then explore how best to express it outwardly. Your life becomes a deeper and fuller expression of who you are.
Coaching for gay men →For founders and creatives
If you're a founder or creative with a clear vision, I can support you too. You may sense yourself getting in your own way: self-doubt, comparison, distraction, losing trust in your own vision and instincts. We explore the deeper layers beneath those patterns (what's really driving them?), and find ways to help you stay connected to clarity and grounded in purpose while navigating the real challenges of creating something.
More about how I work →There's no single “type” of client I work with. The work I do is founded on our shared human experience, and in the perspective that life wants to express itself through us. Together we explore how best to make this happen by listening to what's already present.
In my clients' words
I asked some of my clients to share what it's like working with me. Here are a few reflections, shared with permission.

Stephen helped me actively develop more self-compassion, clarity about what matters to me, and practical tools for sustaining high performance. He is an incredible resource for helping navigate identity and authenticity alongside personal success in professional life.
