Embodied coaching · For self-expression
Tend to the
life you desire
What is calling to be expressed?
What might happen if you listen?

Ready for Growth is an embodied coaching practice that integrates somatic awareness, parts work, and self-inquiry to help you listen to your inner world and create the conditions for change to unfold.
What keeps getting in the way of the life you desire?
You want to live a life that's true to who you are. A life that feels coherent with what matters most to you.
Yet creating the life you want is harder than it sounds. You may have already tried: taken a bold step, met familiar resistance, and ended up back where you started, now with self-recrimination layered on top.
This is our self-protective nature at work. We all develop patterns that keep us safe from past pain. They don't simply step aside when we decide we want something new, and faithfully try to keep us from what once caused us pain.
So one part of us desires change, all while something else actively resists it. We end up feeling locked in an inner tug-of-war. Both sides pulling in different directions, neither stopping to listen or understand the wider context.
What we resist persists. And what we welcome shifts.
The paradox is that change unfolds when we can be present with what's actually here.
We do this by slowing down and listening to your inner world through reflective conversation and embodied practices. You might sense an emotion, a memory, an image, or a felt sense that hasn't yet found words. Whatever arises, I help you meet it so its expression can unfold. From that relationship, new self-understanding and insight will emerge in ways that support clarity and action.
What might you discover if you slowed down enough to listen?

About Stephen
Hi, I'm Stephen Tracy, a coach based in New York City, working primarily with gay men, founders, and creatives who want to express themselves more fully.
I help my clients move toward their desires while learning to embrace all of who they are, so their lives flow with greater integrity and ease.
What's most often getting in the way is one of two things. Either we're unclear what we actually want, or we know what we want and another part of us is afraid or resistant. Either way, our inner world pulls us in different directions, and we get stuck in the middle, working harder to resolve the tension.
What if resolution began with listening?
The work we do together makes room for all of your inner world — the hopes and the fears, the push and the pulls — and meets each part in a way that honors the role it has been playing. From that listening, deeper self-understanding and a reconciliation that holds all of you begin to emerge.

Who I work with
My work draws people committed to their own self-expression and being true to themselves.
The territories of self-expression my work focuses on are creative work and vocation, love and partnership, sexuality and intimacy, and liminal moments before or after big decisions, when life is asking to change shape.
Gay men
As gay men, we want to express ourselves fully, and that desire runs up against unconscious defenses that learned to keep aspects of ourselves hidden. We work together by listening for what’s true for you, and finding how best to express it outwardly.
Coaching for gay men →Founders and creatives
As creatives and founders, we often have brilliant ideas and yet get in our own way with self-doubt, distraction, or losing trust in our own instincts. Together we explore the deeper layers beneath these patterns, and find how to welcome what we’re trying to protect alongside what we’re building.
Coaching for founders and creatives →Perhaps you feel something pulling within, or notice a gap between how your life looks from the outside and how it feels within. Whoever you are, working together begins with listening to what's already present for you and trusting that your life knows how to express itself through you.
In my clients' words
I asked some of my clients to share what it's like working with me. Here are a few reflections, shared with permission.

Stephen helped me actively develop more self-compassion, clarity about what matters to me, and practical tools for sustaining high performance. He is an incredible resource for helping navigate identity and authenticity alongside personal success in professional life.
